Alexei Kiryukhin graduated from
the Faculty of Geologo-Geography at Kharkov State University (now V.Karazin
Kharkov National University). Ph.D. (Geol.Sc.) from Institute of Geological
Sciences of Ukrainian Academy of Sciences (1989, Kiev). Authored and co-authored
some 40 articles in Russian and Ukrainian issues. Now occupies the position of
Scientific Director and Head of Laboratory in Ukrainian Scientific and Research
Institute of Ecological Problems. Specializes in spatial planning of sustainable
development at regional and local levels and integrated management of water
resources in the transboundary river basin.
