Vadim Arthurovitch SALTYKOVSKY has
lectured in ecology, social and political geography and regional politics at The
University of Social Science, Russian Open University, Moscow State University
and the University of Canada (as a visiting professor in 1994). His main area of
interest is the environmental stability and sustainable development of old
industrial regions. He has participated in several important federal and
international programs, including the nongovernmental fund New Generation
(1991-1993) and the international program 'Ecological Aspects of Development of
the North' (1994). He is the scientific secretary of the Vernadsky's
nongovernmental fund. V.A. Saltykovsky graduated from the Moscow Geological
Prospecting Academy in 1986, and he received his master's degree in 1993.
