Polat REIMOV is head of the
geography department at Karakalpak State University in Nukus (Uzbekistan) and a
member of the school's board of directors. He is also a member of the Ecological
Union of Karakalpakstan, an environmental NGO. His areas of specialty are arial
photo survey and cartography. He is interested in ecological mapping using
geo-informational technologies in geography and remote sensing. He has a
doctorate in geography from the Moscow Institute of Engineers at Moscow State
University.
