Larissa Vladimirovna DJABROUEVA is
chief of the information department in the Ministry of Environment Protection
and Natural Resources in the Republic of Kalmykia. She is also a professor of
biology at the Kalmykian State University, an active naturalist and a
corresponding member of the Russian Ecological Academy. She is co-author of a
plan approved by UNEP, the 'National Action Program to Combat Desertification in
Republic of Kalmykiya'. She is also co-author of an international project
seeking to create a European Aridity Center in the Republic of Kalmykiya. She
has a doctorate in biology from Moscow State University.
